The Fire and Emergency Sevices is supervised by an officer of the rank of Inspector General of Police who in turn is assisted by a DIG and Supervisory Officer at Headquarters. The department is headed by an officer of the rank Suprindent of Police who in turn is assisted by Divisional Fire Office followed by Station Officers at both Leh and Kargil.
The main operations include:
1.Mitigating the damages caused by Fire through effictive and timely fire fighting.
2.Controlling fire and damages caused by disasters.
3.Controlling fire and damages caused byEarthquakes.
